Sunday, October 11, is International Day of the Girl. Created in 2011 by the United Nations to “focus attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of the human rights.”
“From resisting violence against women, to climate action, to asserting the rights of a girl and a woman to determine what happens to her body, UN Women stands by them and works to amplify their power and their calls for change.” – UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka
Girls’ Voices Matter is dedicated to promoting girls’ empowerment. Our programs are designed to increase their confidence and spark their natural curiosity in a non-competitive, supportive environment.
On International Day of the Girl, let’s remember how important girls are to the world, and how much we as adults can do to help them succeed.
