Frequently Asked Questions
What is Digital Storytelling?
A digital story is a short, personal narrative combining creative writing, video and sound. Digital Storytelling begins with the written and oral traditions, and transforms those into a 3-5 minute video. Digital stories can be personal, instructional, demonstrations, statements of social awareness, or any story the student wants to tell.
Is Digital Storytelling’s Summer Workshop for Teen Girls right for my daughter?
We live in a world where media and mass culture constantly bombard teen girls with messages about how they should look, behave, and think. Our workshop is a safe, supportive community for girls to experiment with creative writing and technology. We give students the opportunity to tell their stories and show us what they think and feel. Our teen girls’ workshop empowers young women to find their voices though filmmaking and literary art.
